日本の東北地方を襲った大震災および津波による被害に遭われた方たちのために、ピアソンは食料、水、金銭などの寄付を通じて支援を行ってまいります。ピアソン桐原は被災地の方たちに、米を4.5トン、ミネラルウォーターを1万1000リットル、そしてパスタを約500キロ寄付するよう日本赤十字等と協議しています。これらの緊急支援物資は現在すでに私たちの倉庫で準備を完了しています。

また、ピアソンの非営利部門であるピアソン基金は、世界中のピアソンの社員が寄付できるよう、日本支援のための特別基金を立ち上げました。ピアソンの社員による全ての募金に対して、ピアソン基金は募金総額と同額を寄付します。ピアソン基金はすでに2万5000USドルの寄付を行っておりますが、これらは全て被災地の方たちへの支援、復興に充てられることになっています。日本の皆さんがこの特別基金に募金をしてくださった場合、ピアソンは1万USドルまで同額を寄付することになっています。募金は2011年3月31日までお受けしております。

最後になりますが、今回の大災害に遭われた方たちには心からのお見舞いを申し上げます。
私たちが個人として、また企業として、できうる限り被災者の方たちのためにお手伝いをし、そして私たち全員が被災地の一刻も早い復興のために貢献できるよう願ってやみません。

Pearson Supports Japan Earthquake Relief

 

 

Following the devastation caused by the earthquake and tsunami that struck the northern region of Japan, Pearson will contribute to the relief efforts through donations of food, water and money to help the victims of this tragic event.

 

Pearson Kirihara K.K. plans to donate to the Japanese Red Cross 4.5 tonnes of rice, 11,000 litres of bottled water and approximately 500kg of pasta for relief in the affected areas. These emergency supplies are currently in our warehouse, and our hope is to get these items to the Red Cross this week.

The Pearson Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Pearson, has also set up a special Japan Relief Fund into which all Pearson employees around the globe can donate. For every donation made by a Pearson employee, the Pearson Foundation will match that donation dollar for dollar. Additionally, the Pearson Foundation has made an initial donation of $25,000 (USD) and all proceeds will be used for relief and recovery needs.

If you would like to donate to the Pearson Foundation Japan Fund, Pearson will also match any donations in Japan up to a value of $10,000 (USD) until the 31st of March 2011.

I would like to again express our deepest condolences to the victims of this disaster. I sincerely hope that we as individuals and as a company can assist those who need our help the most and that all of us can contribute to a swift recovery in the affected region.
