　2011年3月11日に発生した東北地方太平洋沖地震及びその後の津波により被災された皆様、ご家族・関係者の方々に心よりお見舞いを申し上げます。

　この度、われわれ英語教育系出版社および洋書販売会社は、被災地の方々へできる限りの支援をさせていただけるよう『ELT for東北』コンソーシアムを設立いたしました。
　教育系企業として、特に子供たちへの支援活動を通じて日本の教育を支えたい、そんな願いとともにメンバー一同協力して参る所存です。

コンソーシアムの設置意義・目的
中長期的に被災された地域では、特に学校や生徒の支援活動に取り組みます。既に参加各社がそれぞれ独自の方法で支援を行っていますが、今後はコンソーシアムとして協力しあうことで、効率的かつ被災された方々の混乱を招くことのない支援活動に発展させて参ります。

義援金受付および今後の予定について
　『ELT for東北』では、下記口座にて義援金の受付を行っております。皆様からお預かりした義援金につきましては、あしなが育英会(http://www.ashinaga.org)およびLiving Dreams(http://livingdream.jp)を通じて、被災地の方々へ届けられます。教育系企業として、特に被災した子供たちや津波遺児を支援したいとの思いから上記2団体への寄付を決定いたしました。

ELT Publishers in Japan unite to support Tohoku disaster relief

The community of international ELT publishers sends its deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of victims and all people affected by the horrific events triggered by the massive earthquake on March 11.

As education professionals, we will engage in support activities that help schools and students impacted by this tragedy. A particular focus will be on those children who lost one or both parents in the disaster. The recovery process will be lengthy, and ongoing contributions by the private sector are crucial to sustain the recovery process.

Purpose of Consortium
English Language Teaching (ELT) publishers and booksellers in Japan have created a new group called "ELT for Tohoku" to help victims of the March 11 earthquake-tsunami disaster. We are planning a number of events for the English language teaching community in order raise awareness and funds for people in the Tohoku region adversely affected by the catastrophe.

Where to Donate
We have established the "Tohoku Support Fund", to provide financial support for children through the Ashinaga Foundation (http://www.ashinaga.org)　and Living Dreams (http://livingdreams.jp). We have chosen these two organizations because of their vision and focus on supporting children through difficult times.
